Shamakhy Astrophysical Observatory signed an agreement with Russian State Institute of Astronomy Jun 19, 2017 | 11:06 / CONFERENCES

Director of the Shamakhy Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) corresponding member of ANAS Namig Jalilov left for Moscow.

In a meeting with Director of the Russian State Institute of Astronomy (SIA) named after Shternberg Academician A.Cherepashuk, were discussed joint research plans and signed an agreement of cooperation.

The meeting with head of SIA Department of Solar physics Prof. B.Somov touched has covered the issue of joint participation at the Russia-Azerbaijan grant competition.

Later on, N.Jalilov got acquainted with the work of Master World Robotic Telescopes Network. Here, at a meeting was discussed to join the global network of SAO in the near future and clarified the conditions required for the realization of this work.

During the visit, joint research in the field of heliosphere physics, prepare the ionosphere station and Schumann resonator for the SAO, organize a space laboratory, including to second young staff to the IZMIRAN have been scheduled at the meeting with a head of Institute of Terrestrial Magnetism, Ionosphere and Radio Wave Propogation (IZMIRAN) Prof. V.Kuznetsov.

In addition, was organized a workshop on “Modern state and promising development trends of astronomy in Azerbaijan”.
